Balance Associates Architects has begun design development on the SML Series. These self contained prefab homes/cabins will compliment our Method Cabin Line and provide alternative sizes and floor plans, while not sacrificing the Balance aesthetic and the quality of our homes. Method is selling these as smaller more affordable homes/cabins that can go on or off grid. This new line will be appropriately named the Balance SML Series. These smaller prefabs will range from under 500 square feet and up to 1000 square feet. Each S-M-L model will incorporate a private bedroom and bath, a functional open kitchen/great room, built in private decks incorporating outdoor spaces and enough glass to capture all of your views.
Of course we will be building this line of homes to the highest sustainable guidelines possible, incorporating environmentally responsible features such as solar panel options, self composting toilets, green roofs and water harvesting systems.
Tom Lenchek, principle of Balance, sums up the S-M-L Series this way: “The concept behind the S-M-L Series is to provide a series of small, smartly designed, prefabricated spaces that make it quick and affordable to create a personal retreat without sacrificing style. Intended as a modern refuge, they create a strong connection between interior and exterior spaces through the use of decks and large glazing sections and use sustainable and low maintenance materials and products throughout.”
