Lake Whatcom lower exterior shot.
Under the upper sliding glass doors will be an 18′ wide by 10′ deck. Note the treated deck ledger already in place. It will be identical to the original Method Cabin deck.
The front porch should also be done shortly. It will be 8′ wide x 6′. It will be flat, supported by the same steel kickers as the main deck and be timber framed out of GluLam beams.
Here is one picture of the home I am willing to release, pre-completion…

Lake Whatcom Cabin nearing completion
As we put the final touches on the Lake Whatcom cabin over the next couple weeks, here are some interesting pictures I took yesterday of the modular portion of the home. The lower site built portion is still being completed so I did not want to show the lower level….until probably next week. Also, look out for the Lake Whatcom set video on our website and YouTube both of which should be up soon.

Cabinets being installed in Method Factory
The Smith Vallee crew has been on site the last couple days installing custom cabinetry in the Lake Whatcom Cabin. All of our cabinetry is made from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) plywood and finished using No VOC finishes. Plus its all custom made right up the Mt. Baker Highway very near our shop. You can visit the Smith Vallee website at http://www.smithandvallee.com/

Siding on Lake Whatcom Cabin
When the Lake Whatcom Cabin leaves our shop next week it will have a good amount of the siding complete. In these pics you can see the beginnings of what will be a siding package composed of all Cedar trim, Hardie horizontal lap siding and Hardie panels, over a rainscreen. You can see the vertical fur-out strips over the building paper. These strips allow the siding to sit just off of the building so that air may circulate behind the siding skin, reducing the possibility of moisture penetration and damage behind the building paper and structure of the home.
The set date has been set for next Thursday Sept. 24th. The site framing is also wrapping up within the next few days in preparation for set.

Lake Whatcom project moving right along…
The set for this project has been confirmed for Sept. 24th, just a couple more weeks! The site work is wrapping up and will be moving towards site framing next week. For now here are some images of the slab that was poured this last Tuesday. Some pics during and after the pour. The house is also moving right along in Method Factory. We are now done with first paint coat (final to be on-site for this one) and have everything from Tile to Cabinets and Trim showing up for install.
