Feasibility

Harmonizing your design vision with the site requirements to ensure your project’s success

Project Goals: We will work closely with you to turn your vision to life. By using a detailed questionnaire and varied architectural visuals, we’ll explore your story, understand your goals and aesthetics, and begin to know your lifestyle. We’ll consider your needs, desires, and specific design preferences, such as desired views and the types of gatherings you enjoy, to ensure your dream home comes to life.

Site Review and Site Access: We’ll assess the feasibility of accessing the site, including identifying potential logistics issues of installing a mod; this can include a site visit from a Method team member or a crane operator to determine the correct size mod for the project.

Zoning: We will conduct a broad review of local zoning code to confirm setbacks, height limitations, easements, shoreline regulations, and any environmental considerations for the site plan and design. Often, a formal site plan must be developed for us to take on your project and provide project review and approval from your local jurisdiction.

Water: If a well is needed, we’ll explore and assess potential locations.

Sewer: A percolation test will be conducted to determine suitable locations for septic tank drain fields, if needed.

Electrical:Typically straightforward, this often includes a solar study to assess the best site options. In areas with frequent power outages we will review the backup options and critical loads that will be maintained in a power event either through a battery backup system or generator.

Design and Permitting

Bringing your vision to life, creating an immersive model of your new home and developing a comprehensive cost breakdown.

Design Inspiration: To create a custom home that reflects your style, we’ll review various design images together, guiding us through the design process responding to both your vision and the specific topography, climate, and natural site conditions.

Design Development: In collaboration with consultants in preparation for local and state permitting, we will develop the design of your home in accordance with local building codes. In addition, we will coordinate with a local general contractor to refine the overall budget of your project.

Schematic Design: Focusing on the big-picture elements, such as house placement, orientation, and spatial adjacencies, we will provide a 3D building mass, where we help you envision your home beyond a two dimensional layout.

Construction Documentation:In preparation for the fabrication process, we will design detailed architectural plans for the structure of your home.Working closely with the interior design and specifications team, we will finalize interior selections, such as tile and appliances. Throughout this process, we will develop line-by-line estimates to prepare for your fixed contract build.

Our integrated process incorporates photos to create a digital model of your home on the site. This provides both an immersive experience and a logistical analysis of the floor plans.
